Friday 9 17 21 morning call

Blustery easterly wind yesterday. Horrible quality, but still enjoyable for a downwinder.

5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.

South shore
Barbers

2ft @ 8s from 170° (S)
1.5ft @ 15s from 195° (SSW)
1.5ft @ 11s from 184° (S)

SSW energy down in size and period. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency

North shore
Waimea
0.5ft @ 13s from 331° (NNW)

Kaneohe Bay
5.2ft @ 8s from 70° (ENE)

With a perfect timing with the start of the season, Pauwela is down. Mokapu and Hilo are down too, so I picked Kaneohe Bay (east Oahu) to check the windswell. Waimea shows a sliver of NNW energy, probably not noticeable in the water.
Home guess for Hookipa is for sloppy waist to chest high waves.

Forecast and energy spectrum of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.
