Hookipa yesterday mid day.
WSL Challange Series first contest out of 4 is on at Huntington Beach. Plenty Maui surfers in it.
4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
2ft @ 14s from 194° (SSW)
Couple of feet 14s would be a nice reading if it was at Lanai, while Barbers doesn't seem to be as indicative for Maui. So, as usual, check the Lahaina
webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.
Below is the map of Sept 13 that shows a bit of a fetch and some of the waves you see on the cam are probably coming from it.
North shore
Hanalei
1.6ft @ 12s from 340° (NNW)
Waimea
1.6ft @ 11s from 316° (NW)
Kaneohe Bay
3.7ft @ 7s from 66° (ENE)
Small NW energy down to 11s at Waimea. Home guess for Hookipa is waist to chest high.
Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.
