Tuesday 9 21 21 morning call

Italian parents Maui born Andrea Crociara mid air rotation yesterday at Kanaha.

Hookipa had some overhead waves in the afternoon.

4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.

South shore
Barbers

1.4ft @ 15s from 298° (WNW)
1.3ft @ 13s from 185° (S)
1.2ft @ 20s from 200° (SSW)

Lovely mix of periods at Barbers. Below are the maps of Sept 16 and 17 that show the fetch that generated the 20s forerunners we see at the buoy and that should build today and be more noticeable tomorrow through the rest of the week.

Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
NW
3ft @ 13s from 324° (NW)

Hanalei
2.1ft @ 14s from 312° (NW)

Waimea
1.4ft @ 15s from 322° (NW)

Kaneohe Bay
4ft @ 8s from 72° (ENE)

New NW energy is rising at the upstream buoys. I guess we can call this the first NW swell of the season, the next one should be a bit bigger (see the Pacioos forecast below). Below are the maps of Sept 17 to 20 that show the fetch that generated it.

Home guess for Hookipa early morning is around shoulder high, building throughout the day to possibly overhead at sunset.

Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here (click on animation of the 10 meter column).
