Sunday 3 19 23 morning call

The Paia Bay Coffee restaurant opened yesterday in its new location (ex Rock & Brews).

Before going there, I made sure to finish this video in which I discuss pros and cons of carrying the Foil Drive battery box in a fanny pack. 13 minutes, could have been 3, but classic GP deep analysis and plenty tangents taken throughout.

6am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.

New short period NNW swell came up at the NW buoys and will gradually increase locally all day. Below are the maps of March 15 through 19 that show the fetch that generated. Fairly large, in place for 5 days, but lacking in wind strength, hence the short period.

Below is the Surfline forecast for today and tomorrow showing a local size of 3.3ft 12s from 344 at 9am, rising to almost 5ft 11s at 6pm and peaking tomorrow morning at 6.5ft 10s.
Home guess for Hookipa is for chest to shoulder high and clean in the morning, possible slightly overhead at sunset.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
