Hookipa yesterday morning through the rain.
6am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Lanai
- 1.8ft, 10s, W 270º
- 1.1ft, 14s, SSW 195º
- 2.3ft, 5s, WSW 240º
Small SSW energy at Lanai. Below are the maps of March 1 through 3 that show the fetch that generated it.
Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
NW101
- 7ft, 7s, W 275º
- 3.7ft, 11s, NW 305º
- 2.2ft, 9s, N 5º
N
- 4.2ft, 13s, N 0º
- 3.3ft, 9s, ENE 70º
- 3ft, 6s, WSW 240º
Mokapu
- 3.6ft, 9s, NE 55º
- 1.1ft, 15s, NNE 25º
- 0.9ft, 13s, NNE 30º
Small 3.7ft 11s NW energy is at the NW101 buoy while the N one records 4.2ft 13s from the N. Based on those relatively distant readings, home guess for Hookipa around head high and clean before the Kona gets stronger.
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: possibly over the ice sheet) from Windy.
