Tuesday 3 28 23 morning call

Hookipa yesterday afternoon.

5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.

Couple of feet 13s plus 0.8ft 17s at Lanai. Below are the maps of March 22 though 24 that show the fetches that possibly generated them (black arrow for the 13s and blue arrow for the 17s). The directions are not quite compatible with my hypothesis, but I don't always trust them.

Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

Very small energy is in the water, the biggest of which is the easterly windswell clocking in at 4.2ft 10s from 80 degrees at Mokapu. Home guess for Hookipa is waist high with possible bigger sets and clean. Possibly a tad bigger on eastern exposures, depending on the shadow line of the specific spot.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
