Saturday 6 15 19 morning call

This is a remarkable 7 minutes of glorious gliding by Kane that I was lucky enough to catch on the camera.

Kane was using a Signature Albatross 210, which is a relatively flat, "pumping style" foil, like the new GL line from GoFoil that was presented later in the day at Hi-Tech. See how flat the last three blue ones are compared to the other much more curved and thicker surfy ones (which are now lighter, btw)?
Today there will be a GoFoil demo day which should start around noon at the east end of Ukumehame Beach Park. I've been out of the foiling game for the last three months, so I haven't tried any of those yet. But I will today!

4am significant buoy readings
Barbers
2.1ft @ 18s from 187° (S)

Lanai
3ft @ 18s from 195° (SSW)
2.2ft @ 13s from 218° (SW)

3ft 18s is a very solid number at Lanai. Today is probably going to be the biggest day of this swell. That wave at Breakwall looks overhead to me, but check the webcam yourself please.

North shore
NW101
3.4ft @ 10s from 318° (NW)

Hanalei
1.9ft @ 11s from 314° (NW)

Waimea
1.9ft @ 11s from 314° (NW)

Pauwela
3.7ft @ 8s from 74° (ENE)
2ft @ 12s from 323° (NW)

2ft 12s is as big as this small NW pulse is going to get in Maui, so if you're a desperate windsurfer, make sure you go to Hookipa today. But I wouldn't expect anything more than waist to shoulder high.

Wind map at noon. Perfect wind for the Gofoil demo.

North Pacific has a small/weak NW fetch.

South Pacific has nothing worth circling.

Morning sky.
