Monday 4 5 21 morning call

The wave I posted yesterday was Hookipa Middles. It's rare, but it does happen that Middles is that good. This is another case from a couple of years ago. Definitely not these days.

7am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
1.4ft @ 13s from 184° (S)

Lanai

1.6ft @ 13s from 187° (S)

Long period southerly energy on the stead decline. Check the Lahaina or Kihei webcams if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
Mokapu
8.4ft @ 7s from 49° (NE)

Pauwela

6.7ft @ 9s from 21° (NNE)
3.7ft @ 7s from 47° (NE)

As predicted, the short period NNE energy has increased at the buoys and should continue to do so. Home guess for Hookipa is overhead, bit disorganized and with some wind.

The energy spectrum of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page is not updated, as they are experiencing technical difficulties.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here (click on animation of the 10 meter column).
