Thursday 4 15 21 morning call

Hookipa yesterday. Photo by Jimmie Hepp from this album.

Perfect light air winging conditions down the coast, with the bonus of some waves on the reef. That would have been my choice, if my hands would have allowed. Jason looking so comfortable on his new harness, he looks like he's smoking a cigarette...

Here's a Maui Wingfoiling guide posted by the Maui Wingfoiling Facebook group.

6am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
2.1ft @ 14s from 194° (SSW)

Lanai

2.6ft @ 14s from 192° (SSW)

Lovely 14s small energy at the buoys, check the Lahaina or Kihei webcams if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
Pauwela

2.7ft @ 8s from 51° (ENE)
2.6ft @ 6s from 16° (NNE)
2.3ft @ 11s from 339° (NNW)

NW energy trickling down, today is going to be a relatively small day. Hookipa was barely head high in the sets when I saw it around 6.30am.

Forecast and energy spectrum of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here (click on animation of the 10 meter column).
