Thursday 4 22 21 morning call

This is Hookipa yesterday afternoon.

The waves were only chest high, but someone forgot to tell Browsinho.

I don't even know the brand and I don't think it's in production (no logos), but that is the best wing I've seen so far. Wide rigid handles are the way to go, imo. Also the overall shape was perfect.
I wonder if I'll be able to foil/wing again one day.

This is Hookipa this morning. I gave it a 6 from the road, it was more like a 5 when I hit the water, and by the time I left (and wind started picking up stronger) it was down to a 4. More like a windsurfing day. Something else I can't do right now.

7am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore

Lanai

1.8ft @ 12s from 222° (SW)

Small energy at Lanai, check the Lahaina or Kihei webcams if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
NW001
4.6ft @ 11s from 328° (NW)

Waimea
4.7ft @ 11s from 335° (NNW)

Pauwela

5.3ft @ 10s from 45° (NE)
2.2ft @ 5s from 77° (ENE)

The direction at Pauwela is obviously wrong (will notify Surfline), size and period look legit. Below is the current graph of it (left) together with the yesterday's graph and prediction and Surfline forecast. This medium period NW swell is peaking in the morning, but it'll stay pretty steady all day. Hookipa was head to head and a half, might get bigger with the help of the windswell during the day.

Forecast and energy spectrum of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here (click on animation of the 10 meter column).

The Cabrinha crosswing X2 has very similar handles.
