Monday 12 13 21 morning call

Yesterday I set up the Foil Drive to work with a windsurf foiling board. Here's a short video I put together about it. No matter the discipline, the Foil Drive will get you up on the foil.

After the Covid break, the International Windsurfing Tour announced the calendar of contests for the new season.

3am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
1.5ft @ 11s from 186° (S)

Very small southerly energy at Barbers. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
NW101
2.7ft @ 13s from 1° (N)

Hanalei
1.8ft @ 13s from 348° (NNW)

Waimea

1.5ft @ 11s from 341° (NNW)
1.4ft @ 15s from 345° (NNW)

Kaneohe Bay
5.6ft @ 7s from 53° (ENE)

Small NW energy at the upstream buoys. Below are the maps of Dec 9 through 12. The arrows show the fetch and its movement and evolution. It never really had a particularly good aim towards Hawaii, hence the small numbers we've been observing at the buoys since a couple of days. It should get a bit bigger in the next couple of days, reflecting the fact that the fetch got closer and more from the north in its final stages. Also today I believe that the easterly windswell will be the most noticeable energy in the water, but there will also be some easily identifiable NNW lines. Home guess for Hookipa is around head high.

Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.
