Thanks Geoff and Ray for the donations.
Hookipa shampoo service yesterday morning.
I got plenty shampoos myself in my second session, got to work on those exits in the closeouts.
HSA contest at the Harbor Jetty will take place with the following tentative heat orders.
4am Surfline
significant buoy readings and discussion. N/A
South shore
Check the Lahaina
webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.
North shore
The Surfline buoy page shows N/A for all the buoys, so I took these values from the original NOAA source (swell height, period and direction):
NW101
16.4 | 13.8 | N |
Hanalei
8.9 | 12.5 |
Waimea
6.9 | 11.1 |
Can't compare these values to the usual Surfline buoys, but they give us a good idea of the fact that there is elevated northerly energy on the rise. The Pacioos forecast below indicates 10.5ft 11.4s from 333. Below is the Surfline forecast for the next two days that shows a massive 14ft 15s from 343 tomorrow morning.
With this lack of information, home guess for Hookipa is extremely iffy. Definitely overhead, and probably not surfable by most, but wait for the beach report later in the morning. Meanwhile, Paia Bay looks pretty wild already. Once again the wind will be key, unfortunately, the maps below didn't update during the night, so the map at noon is more than 24h old.
Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.
Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
Fetches map (circles legend: red: direct aim, blue: angular spreading, black: blocked, yellow: possibly over the ice sheet) from Windy.
North Pacific (about 4 days travel time from the NW corner of the North Pacific):
South Pacific (about 7 days travel time from east/west of New Zealand):
