Tuesday 12 14 21 morning call

I recently left this comment on a SUP foiling downwind related post of Dave Kalama:

There's many invisible lines to be taken out there and I'm just starting to see them thanks to the Foil Drive assist...
What I like the most about the downwinders compared to foiling on a perfectly shaped wave is that, like in real life, you are presented with highly imperfect and ever changing shapes and situations and you have to adapt and make the most of them.
No one around to distract you while you do that is another aspect I love of this wonderful discipline.

A minute and a half from yesterday's short run below.

Hookipa yesterday mid day.

Hookipa at sunset.

6am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
No southerly energy at Barbers, even though there might be a little wrap from the north. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
N

4.6ft @ 13s from 15° (NNE)
3.5ft @ 17s from 27° (NNE)

Hanalei
5ft @ 12s from 351° (N)

Waimea
4.4ft @ 12s from 352° (N)

Kaneohe Bay
7.2ft @ 9s from 42° (NE)

The waves picked yesterday afternoon as predicted by the forecasts. Today they should stay fairly elevated while tomorrow the size should increase noticeable as shown in the Surfline forecast below.

Home guess for Hookipa is particularly difficult, as most of the current energy is missing us to our east (see fetches collage I posted yesterday). Gonna throw head and a half to double and poor conditions due to the overlapping of the high NE windswell and some wind.

Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.
