Wednesday 12 1 21 morning call

Russ up the coast yesterday in iffy wind conditions. He's the worse guinea pig ever: even if he makes it look good, it doesn't mean anything for the common mortals.

4am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
1ft @ 16s from 197° (SSW)

Small SSW energy at Barbers after a week of nothingness. Below is the map of Nov 25 that show the fetch that generated it. It only lasted one day, so don't expect much at all from this energy. Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
NW101

3.7ft @ 11s from 325° (NW)
3.5ft @ 14s from 343° (NNW)

Hanalei

2.9ft @ 11s from 341° (NNW)
1.5ft @ 16s from 325° (NW)

Waimea

2.2ft @ 12s from 347° (NNW)
1.2ft @ 18s from 325° (NW)

Kaneohe Bay
4.4ft @ 8s from 59° (ENE)

Mixed NW energies at the buoys. Below are the maps of Nov 27 through 30 that show the variety of scattered near and far fetches that generated them. The Surfline buoy page seemed not to work at first (later it did), so I circled the different energies predicted by the Pacioos forecast below. Pretty close to what's at the buoys, as you can see. Home guess for Hookipa is a bit of shot in the dark, I'm gonna say around head high.

Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.
