Monday 12 20 21 morning call

No photos from yesterday, here's a photo posted by OneMoreFoto a while ago. We're not going to see a sky like that for a while.

5am Surfline significant buoy readings and discussion.
South shore
Barbers
1.6ft @ 14s from 246° (WSW)

That direction at Barbers could be influenced by some other westerly energy and be SSW instead. If Lanai was up (been down long time, together with Pauwela and now Waimea) it would be a lot more precise. I believe this could be 14s energy coming from the fetch indicated in the maps below (Dec 10 and 11).

Check the Lahaina webcam if interested, for size, conditions and consistency.

North shore
Hanalei

5.5ft @ 9s from 18° (NNE)
5ft @ 8s from 49° (NE)
4.7ft @ 12s from 1° (N)
2.5ft @ 11s from 13° (NNE)

Hilo

5ft @ 9s from 78° (ENE)
3.9ft @ 7s from 63° (ENE)
3.9ft @ 11s from 1° (N)

Kaneohe Bay
5.3ft @ 12s from 12° (NNE)

Mix of northerly energies at the buoys. If you look at today's fetch map below, you'll see how that is going to increase greatly over the next few days. Home guess for Hookipa is head to head and a third, windy, stormy, rainy.

Forecast of Pauwela from this PACIOOS page.
